Hi,

My boss has asked me to add a file mask to quarantine .htm attachments, but there seems to be a lot of headers attached to messages as htm attachments and these messages are getting quarantined which is causing me some hassle, is there any valid reason to quarantine htm attachments or should I remove the mask and allow them through, any ideas would be much appreciated.

Alan

If you've got good, up-to-date, anti-virus software on your clients and your servers and your IE and mail client service packs and patches are up to date I can't think of any valid reason for blocking htm attachments.

Since many spam messages are littered with html bugs ( tracking info, viruses, trojans, downloadable bugs, spyware ) I see no reason why HTML/HTM shouldn't be quarrantined.
