Is there an upper limit to a WordBasic Output?

I have inherited a system which uses WordBasic to display a list of word templates available to users in a folder.

There seems to be a problem that when there are more than 55 templates in a folder, it will only display the last 55 of them (entry one is a blank entry, giving 56 total choices) Is this a limitation of WordBasic or of the code. I can't find any reference in the code to suggest that an upper limit would be in place.
