I was looking into setting up a test line for my installers in the field. Does anybody know if there is a way to setup a "CO Milliwatt" 1004hz test number for troubleshooting lines on a meridian 81-c pbx?

There is a box that can hook to a digital set that acts as a 2616 telephone that you can hook up. It will answer and read back the telephone that they are calling from. It can also be set up to dial back to that extension also. It is a pretty cool device. I don't remember the name of it off the top of my head though. Sorry about that one.

If you are looking for a test tone for trunk transmission testing then you can do this.
LD 15
REQ: chg
TYPE: tst

TYPE TST_DATA
CUST 0
T100 4567 (DN of your choice)
REF0 4568
TST0 4569
REF1
TST1
REF2
TST2
REF3
TST3

You can enter DNs for REF1 to REF3 but probably only 3 required.
When you call the T100 DN from a trunk you will get 1020hz tone for a few seconds followed by silence. REF0 or TST0 gives you constant 1020 hz - can't remember which, but the other one gives you constant silence.
Can be used for transmission level testing and noise.
Works only from trunks as I recall and possibly only analog trunks. Been a while.
