There is an access database in which users are able to modify, delete or add new records on a daily basis.

I have created another database which has links to the tables in the database maintained by the users. I maintain certain tables in this new database via update, delete and append queries.

I am looking for a way to identify the records that have been affected by the "update", "append" and "delete" queries so that I can periodically create a table that contains only the records that have been added, updated and deleted (the deleted records seem to be somewhat of a problem as they will be absent from the tables when I want to create the file of changes! Perhaps there is a way to save these in a temporary table when the delete query tosses them ?) Any ideas on how to do this would be appreciated.

Paul

I'd start at the beggining?
How do your users add new records?
If they clicked a Save Record button which could save the information to 2 tables or more.
Also if you put in a extra Date/Time column in one or both tables then you could compare dates and times to earlier items etc.

DougP
dposton@universal1.com

Ask me how Bar-codes can help you be more productive.

I do not have any control over the application in which the users make changes. It is a seperate application (purchased package application). I merely link to some tables in this package. I obtain some data for my app by running three queries, an update, an append and a delete. What i want to know is, is there a way, when I run these queries, to identify what, in my tables, was updated, deleted or added.
Paul
