Is there a method to define the DN range on the Meridian?

Having looked at all my documentation (is was a few years when I attended the Nortel courses!!) I cannot find a method that defines the directory number range.

What does the command LUDN interpret the determine the unused directory numbers?

As part of an install I was adding a DN, however it was not listed as part of the LUDN response. As a trial I inputted the respective DN when asked for in LD 10. This data was accepted and everything appears to be working correctly.

Is the LUDN only part of the answer?

You have all numbers available to you that are not already defined, like the 9 range is usually lost because of dialing 9 for your outside lines. You have to remember when you do an LUDN it might say 71 72 74 8 meaning you have all numbers beginning with 71xxxxx or 72xxxx and every number starting with 8 800000-899999 (I dont remember the limit of digits but hopefully you get my drift there)

Is there a specific issue you are having with the DN range?

JohnThePhoneGuy,

Thanks for the lightbulb moment!!
I was not thinking about the meridian giving the leading digits!!!

Need to change the LUDN response to say NNxxxxx !!

All digits are already in the system and LUDN just tell's you which one's have not been used yet. If it's not listed, then it is already being used.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.
