Is there a free email you can use with outlook or express

Hello

I have a regular email account that I use, but would like to have a backup that is free. I used hotmail with outlook express untill they stoped letting you use it with outlook. Any way is there a free email account you can get that will work with outlook?? I have access to outlook express 6. Outlook 97 and outlook 2000. or Thunderbird. Any help would be appreciated.

You can make yahoo mail work by using the open source ypops utility. Gmail should also work.
