I've used the command "sfc /scannow" this early morning for the first time. I don't know when the problem occurs, just now i started my WinXP and arbitrary check my hard disk free space, about free 470mb were used without my knowledge.

I'm sure that after using that command, I didn't do any tremendous change in my system.

(Before using that command, my hard disk has about 1.11gb, but now only 648mb. And I've tried to use cleanup, after checked all the option and run, the results doesn't satisfies me. (no difference))

I would check for viruses because any time I have ever seen an unexplained loss of disk space it was caused by a virus. You could also rerun checkdisk to see if there are any errors on your disk like bad blocks.

If anyone calls and says "I know a little something about computers" just tell them to reformat it.

SFC /Scannow is not very exciting. But it does write its findings to the Event logs.

Start, Administrative Tools, Event Viewer. Read its results, and clear the event log database.

But quite frankly, you need a larger hard drive for XP.

Solution found, the command I used will store some file in "cache", this cache used up my storage. I used "sfc /purge..." to solved it.

Read this thread and check the article concerning what running SFC can do to System Restore points.
