I am getting Avaya Aura R6 Std quoted to me and I am not getting a straight answer on whether that includes Session Manager or not. Can someone provide some light on that? I know I need Session Manager and just want to know I'm getting it like I should.

This is a new installation that I'm trying to get the correct config on with the vendors I'm dealing with.
The config constist of a G430, S8300D server blade, Aura R6 Std. Ed. 100 user bundle, and so on. I don't see anything about System Manager and the Avaya vendors, of course, want me to go with an all out Avaya voicemail system. I am wanting to use Exchange UM for my voicemail, so I only need the Avaya piece that will make that connection. I am told it is Session Manager, but I don't know it that's part of Aura R6 or if it's something I have to purchase additionally.
Any additional help would be appreciated.

It's not included. You will need to buy at least two HP DL360 G7 servers (one System Manager, one Session Manager) and will have to pay $150 per session between CM and SM, and $150 for each session between SM and Exchange. I'm sure this will be excessively expensive for your needs (to buy and maintain).
If you want Exchange UM then there two other options:
1. Get the same config as proposed currently but CM5 rather than 6. This way you will have the co-res SES on the S8300 and can connect to Exchange UM using that. The only drawback to this approach is that CM5 will reach end of support at the end of 2012.
2. Ask for a quote for CM6 Midsize Enterprise Server (MES). This is a single HP server that runs CM, SM and SMGR as VMs. This will be more expensive than your current quote, as the hardware will be more expensive and you can't get user bundle pricing.
Before picking one of the above options you'll need to check the Avaya application notes for Exchange UM integration, as there are differences in the Exchange versions that have been tested against SES and SM.

Already had the vendors price that out for me and it was over my budget. The first vendor I was dealing with last year on getting a config and solution put together really screwed me in not coming up with the correct config for my needs and thus I budgeted based on that information. Now after talking with several vendors, including the original one, the MidSize Ent platform would have been a perfect fit for me. So it looks like I will have to do this in several phases.
One will be utilizing what was originally config'd for me, but luckily I have a Microsoft certified VoIP codec gateway at my disposal that I will make the connection to Exchange UM with and the Avaya will connect to the codec appliance via T1 QSIG.
Second, I will budget for next school year to migrate one of my other sites into the system and add in the cost of migrating to the MidSize Ent platform. Worse case scenario, I will only be out a S8300D blade and labor.
