Is OO4O better than ADO?

I would like to know what advantages does OO4O has agains ADO using VB6 and Oracle 8i. It's better to use OO4O to handle LOBs?

If you do not need portability, OO4O is better, because it's faster and also supported by Oracle itself, thus containig the newest features.
