I have a Proliant ML570 Intstalled on it Oracle 9.2 (DataWarehouse), I want to use LVM, since RedHAt 2.1 AS do not support LVM, i will use RedHAt 7.3.

I want to ask some guru here in this forum: is LVM stable enough so i can use it for our Oracle database ??

Thanks for your help.

Been running LVM (RH8) for 6 months now on 2 servers with no problems.

Unfortunately we have no DB on these servers (only MQ and some java apps), so I cannot say how reliable it would be with Oracle. Do you have the option to build a test server and do some stress testing?

Hi,

We've a pre-production with LVM. Everythings fine and stable on that machine.
The server is tested and will go in production in the next few weeks
