I have a cranky old machine running Exchange 5.5, and want to upgrade the hardware.

If I install 5.5 on a new machine, as part of the same site, is it enough to just do a full replication then move users to the new machine, before taking the old one down?

I know I can try it and see, but I'd like a theoretical thumb up / down if anyone can give it.
thanks.

Yes, this is possible, with some extra work - in fact it's known as the "The Ed Crowley Server Move Method".

Ah, perfect.

Thanks a lot, that'sjust what I needed.
