Thanks ahead to all,

Just to blindly play when they are idle, no.

But you can set the radio up on Music on hold and let them dial the access code to music and they can listen, but if you get to many on there, regular users won't hear the hold music.

Janaya,

depends if they can broadcast the music source

It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity, and make it work for you.

to use a radio station for background or moh, you need a rebroadcast agreement with the radio station.. i have had to testify in a civil action in one such case.. nortel does not have a background music feature, norstar key system does.. the above will work, but the station is busy during the monitor.. most pbx's do not have that feature due to power requirements and the use of common equiptment.. that also rules out page zones to the phones..

poole is correct. I have seen people get into trouble using the radio for MOH. My textbook answer to customers, is that they will need to sign some type of royalty agreement with the music companies and the radio stations to have the radio on their MOH.

And MikeyB is correct about the broadcast music, but I have yet to see anyone that shelled out the money for broadcast music.

We use a company called "Muzak" for our MOH. Satellite; lots of channels, etc. -Matt
