I'm just wondering if it is possible to place a new executable in it's own memory space?

The reason that I am asking is that whenever I use FireFox, it's really annoying that if I go to a website and FireFox crashes, all windows (and well tabs) go down as well.

It's a very annoying problem, and I'm wondering if there is any way around it, so that if one browser window crashes, the rest are unaffected. I don't know if it's possible or not.

Do you mean that the browser crashes, or that Windows crashes?

Does firefox crash often for you? I ask as its never crashed for me (yet!). Could you have another problem that needs sorting?

I know ie has option to open new windows in separate memory space - but can't see anything in firefox's options for that (or in its help).

micker377 and wolluf:

The browser as in Firefox crashes, windows doesn't crash for me. I should make it clear that this is not a frequent problem, it doesn't happen every day or anything.

I guess I was just wondering if there was a way to prevent a crash from taking down all open browser windows.

Wolluf how do you open a new browser window in separate memory space in IE?

I have downloaded a browser called Maxthon and it has the capacity to do what you want. The other people here may know of it and might comment but I think it is very good. Purdy

ostrich69 - bcastner's right - the option I was thinking of is not there (in XP SP2 at least). I haven't looked for ages, but I know IE settings advanced tab used to have this option - because I've previously used it!
