Usually we set the hard disk space to be allocated for system restore. Now since this space is limited and recycled again and again, the older restore points are replaced with newer ones.

Question: Suppose you want to keep a restore point for ever such that because of limited alloted disk space it is not replaced by newer ones, how do you do this. Is it possible to archive a restore point in a separate folder?

Thanks.

Probably the only way you could achieve that would be to revert back to that one restore point (while you have it) and then make a ASR backup of your XP partition and restore from the ASR if you ever need to. Restore points are only kept for a maximum of 90 days. After the ASR you would have to undo the System Restore to come back to the present.
