I have made an SVCD movie using premiere 6.5 in a PAL format. I want to send it to a friend in the States. Ccan I just use my same PAL settings but change it where the export timeline in the File menu is then select adobe MPEG encoder finally choosing NTSC video standard.

Would this allow my friend in America to view this video in SVCD format on her television without any problems?

From a technical point of view what difference is there doing it this way as opposed to using the NTSC preference settings at the beginnning of the project?

Thanks in anticipation

A quick review of posts on this forum will tell you that using Premiere's MPEG encoder for SVCD/DVD encoding is not a good option. Try a third party encoder like TMPGEnc to encode from AVI-SVCD/DVD.

Your idea is worth a try, you may be lucky, but I doubt it.
