Is FollowSymLinks secure?

I am the administrator of a server which runs VirtualDomains. I installed qmailadmin and was wondering if I could run a symlink to it so than all my VH can use it.
For that I need to set FollowSymLinks for the cgi-bin's directories. Is it secure?

I don't see where it would be that big of a problem, but if you don't feel right about it, you could always use the Alias directive and define it globally.
