hi All

I have been asked to do some research. We have a txt file that is a worktime recording. What we would like to do!!
import this file into some application (maybe a runtime) that enables a user to run as and when they need to with say criteria for userid and dates maybe? so a user would want to know eg what worktime entries they had inserted for yesterday against themselves. Happy to explain further if someone can put me on the right track

As long as your txt file has a good and consitent record structure you can use the ODBC driver for txt and create a report directly from it. Then CR can report from it.

But it is better to upload the information into a DB table and report off it from there. Editor and Publisher of Crystal Clear

hi thanks for your response. There was actually another question up on the board that seemed to cover this as well, regarding some third party add-ons that seemed to have the end effect of what we are looking. At this stage the Co has not purchased Crystal but we will certainly be looking at it now. cheers
