I been watching our pbx more closely over the past couple months and it seems I am seeing this error daily. Should I do anything about this or is there a way to better diagnose it? I also see a lot of ERR090 errors.

Thanks :)

XMI000 24 : R71 CRC Error threshold exceeded

DTC001

XMI0000 aaaa
"Message ""aaaa"" received from a Network Card (NT8D04). The possible
messages are: 1. PLL UNLOCK EVENT. The Network card lost synch with the
system clock. 2. MSG FROM SHELF x:
XPEC ERROR 0001. This error is usually self correcting. If may indicate
a double timeslot problem or invalid call teardown. 3. TN READ
UNBLOCKED: CNT=x. A number of SSD messages
were sent to the PS card but not acknowledged. In order to prevent the
locking of the message path, the Network card assumed the message was
received. 4. Any of the following
three messages: XNET POLLING FAILURE ON PORT x RSIG LINK LOST ON PORT
#x - REINITIALIZED R71 DISASTER; CANNOT ALIGN TRANSCEIVERS. These
messages indicate that the Controller is
not responding to the Network card polling messages."
Action: "1. a. Ignore if message occur when clocks are switched.
b. If it occurs periodically, switch the clocks.
c. If it occurs often, replace Network card or clocks. Random XMI000
messages may be generated if excessive Electrostatic Discharges (ESD)
are allowed to enter the system. These
messages may be safely ignored. Refer to General Maintenance
Information (553-3001-500) for ESD avoidance practices.
2. a If message occurs rarely, ignore it.
b. If it occurs often, replace the Controller.
3. a. If message occurs rarely, ignore it.
b. If it occurs often, replace the PS or Network card.
4. a. Check cabling between Controller and Network.
b. Replace the Controller.
c. Replace the Network. In X11 Release 15 and 16, ""FRw APx SQy TPz""
is output before the text, where ""w"" is the loop number. This data is
not output in X11 Release 17 and
later. Messages without text indicate that the Network or Controller
card have requested software download."
Severity: Critical

yes, it is going to cause problems. is 24 0/24 1 a local loop? if so the network card is have comm problems with the controller... there is one cable from the front of the net card to the backplane of the ipe per shelf.. check those connections.. might be a problem if the trash clamps are missing on the faceplate.. if not i would replace the net card and the controller.. if $ makes a difference, change the net and wait.. then if it comes back the controller.. great catch on that xmi code, if it starts getting worse it will cause an ini...5 ini's and you get a free restart..the ini will happen either during heavy traffic, or during changes...you'll see it here...i added a phone and the switch ini'ed..what did i do....wasn't the phone it was all those err you didn't fix..nothing will replace a good tech doing his job..(yet)

24 isnt in my loops. Here is a list of my loops. The operators been getting random dropped calls when asnwering, they will hear a couple words then just click and call is gone and then 3 times in a row the other day the operators took a call and tranfered it to the ext they wanted but it wouldnt hang up on the operator phone they were able to listen to the whole conversation and couldnt get it to disconnect. It finally disconnected once the other 2 parties ended the call. I'm just trying to narrow down whats causing this. I already found a bad trunk and removed it a couple weeks ago. Also I check the error count for slipr and slipd and losfa. I get random -1 on some of those ranging from slipr slipd to losfa. Is that normal?

it's probably a superloop, for phones?

If you see these a lot, you might have an issue with the Super Loop Network card, the cables that connect to the IPE shelf or the Cont-4 card in the IPE shelf. If you are getting a lot of these, disable the Network card and the Controller card (XPE) and re-seat the cards. more than likely an after-hours affair.

If it goes away then I wouldn't worry. If they continue to scroll, and you have maintenance, get the cards replaced. If you don't have maintenance, buy the cards and replace. These cards are relatively inexpensive (compared to replacing a dual-pri card)

I would try that. If you have maintenance and your provider has not called, call them. This error should dial out to their watch center.

Lets start here.

We do have a service contract we just renewed I am going to call them and let them decide what to do. I was kinda hoping it was something little less involved. I can handle running daily stuff with the pbx but never touched the internal workings. For what we pay them for service I shouldnt have to even move phones :)

I think our 3 year renewal was $32,000 for 3 years and it includes monitoring and remote support and onsite support. I narrowed our ports down to 1300 configured.

Thanks again as always.

You can reset the network and controller card. it's not difficult, could be scary when you look in the manual to reset and it reads

enl xpe 10 and you should be typing enl xpe xpec 10, so you might sweat a little (hey they are getting better on the documentation though)

but do it in the evening and let your vendor know.

John

your ERR090 errors generally mean you have a bad trunk line.

XMI000 24 means your getting CRC errors on your controller card. Possible loose connection or bad card.

The DTC001 means that your DTI is clocking on the primary source. In LD 60 you can adjust your thresholds and alarm points.

janaya..did they change enxp 10 ?? mem's getting bad but it worked last time i needed it..
