Sounds like an upgrade to the old 2600 line. Performance is boosted and without digging too much, I would guess the VoIP has been boosted as well. This is the new official remote site router as far as Cisco is concerned. I would guess unles you have some pressing need or weird config, the older 2600s would be fine.. I will however defer to anyone who does VoIP for a living and might have a better take on it then I.
