This is very generic and basic question.
Like many other ours is IPv4 network. Everything, routers, switches, hubs, computers, OS, communicates using IPv4 addresses. I am now looking into IPv6 and its issues. The only thing I can guess is that I need ISP should support it, but thats all.
Can anyone provide a detailed explanation of the issues involved in IPv6. I dont necessarily want to migrate everything (just want to play with it for now), but I was wondering if I can have some machines and networks using IPv6 alongside machines and networks using IPv4. Is it possible at all ??
I mean could I have 2 machines on the same hub, one has IPv4 address and the other IPv6 and could they communicate with one other. Can a network support such a thing ??
Should IPv6 should be on separate networks than Ipv4 and route between them as you would normally do ??
How would DNS work with IPv6 addresses ??

Many, many questions, but I dont have the right source to get the answers from. Can anyone provide a detailed explanation or provide me with a good source as links, docs, howtos would be great for this as well.

Thanks.

Also want to know what kinda routers/ swicthes support IPv6. I have a couple of 3600s to spare and I guess I can get the latest IOS.
I have heard faintly about technologies like teredo and 6to4, but know nothing about it.
So kindly advice.
Thanks.
