All,

I have installed IP-Softphone rel.3 on a Definity Rel. 9.2 with everything properly installed (as far as I can see) but when logging in (Roadwarrior òr Telecommuter) I get the error-message pop-up:
"An error was identified in Avaya iClarity IP Audio (...) call...dealer (Error code= 118)"

Any Ideas?
Kind Regards,

Yeah,

iClarity is the Avaya codecs for the IPSoftphone - these conflict with the standard MS ones. Uninstall MS Netmeeting and all should be fine.

Hope this helps,

Chris

Chris,

I'm afraid Netmeeting does not have an uninstall-option in MS WIndows2000. And besides, users need it for Other business-purposes. I think the computer's codecs shouldn't matter anyway when using the Telecommuter option. Correct me if I'm wrong please, but I'm not so happy about removing Netmeeting as the only solution to my problem.

Thnx Kind Regards,
Maarten Copini

I Had the same thing ,
Seems you need R 9.5 in order to get it working...
I recently got It upgrades

This is what Avaya says:
The AVAYA Call Processing Server has AVAYA IP Solutions with ACP (DEFINITY) Release 9.5 and above. IP Softphone R3 V1 will not work with ACP releases previous to DEFINITY R9.5.

Thanks a lot telcoguy,

I figured that, but hoped to get things working on 9.2

There is a setting in Netmeeting that determines what codec you are going to use. I can't remember where the setting is located, I'll do some looking tomorrow, but you delselect the default G723 codec in Netmeeting and it fixes your problem.

Thanks

Chris

I found it! It was on the web.

To select the audio codec in Microsoft NetMeeting, perform the following steps:

1. From the Tools menu, select the Options command.

The Options dialog box appears.

2. Click the Audio tab. The Audio tab appears.

3. Choose the Advanced button.

The Advanced Compression Settings dialog box appears. The audio codec driver Microsoft NetMeeting is using is displayed in the Preferred codec for audio compression list box.

4. Select a supported codec, and then choose the OK button.

5. Choose the OK button.

6. Make a call to determine whether the audio quality is improved.

Thanks

Chris

I did select another codec, but keep getting the error noted above...I think it is a release problem. I'll try to get an upgrade to 9.5.
Thanks anyway for your help all.
