Can anyone clarify something I am confused about. We have remote centers connected via DS3 to G650. I want to know what sequence of events cause a G650 to do a port network reboot and what happens to the calls connected at that time. Say we lose a DS3 for 10 seconds, Avaya told me that once a G650 loses signal it starts a timer that will do a PN reset in 5 seconds. Our DS3s will automatically fail over in 10 seconds to the alternate.

I have my timer for the ESS set to 15 minutes. I have had conflicting info from Avaya, anyone that can set me straight would be appreciated.

From what I understand, the G650 will go through a warm restart if it misses 3 IPSI heartbeats, which takes roughly 3 seconds. A warm restart is supposed to maintain calls but, IMO, that's a little subjective - particularly with IP sets. Anyway, they say 35 seconds to total restoration provided your link back to the main server is restored.

3 warm restarts in <30 minutes will escalate to a cold restart which will drop all connections.

The ESS timer only kicks in when connectivity to the main server can not be restored. If the 650 is unable to connect to the main server for, in your case 15 minutes, it will do a cold restart and attempt to register to your ESS servers.
