ipsec cisco 1721

Hi all,

I need to configure ipsec in my cisco 1721.
The problem is that I dont have a public IP address for my router. I acess the internet through another router placed in a different LAN and which configuration I cannot modify.

------- My router ---------- Router with
public IP
address

Is there any way to get this to work?
As far as I know, you need a public IP address in your router to configure ipsec but maybe some of you know a way to make it work in this situation...

if the ip on the peer router is static you can use a dynamic crypto map

i am sorry, the above will not work in this situation unless you have access to the other router to make the neccessary config changes

Is the router assigned a static public ip address or an address that does not change?

My router is assigned two private ip addresses and accesses the internet through another router.

The ipsec peer is a cisco pix firewall with a static public ip address.

It can be done, I'm assuming that you're trying to setup a IPSEC VPN Tunnel? If you are let me know I'll post my configuration here. I had to walk through it with Cisco and couldn't enable ESP on my tunnel but it still works great.
