Have a customer with two sites, one is a 412 and the other is a 406V2 with a VM PRO at each site linked together via SCN they are currently at 3.2.54, and we would like to upgrade them to R5. Are there any things that you folks feel that I should look out for? We have mostly analog sets, and probably 30 5410 type sets at each site. Thanks for the assistance, and Happy New Year!

Ray

Be sure your 406v2 is a pcs8 or higher

Before upgrade make a backup just in case! And if anything goes wrong / not the way you like it... you can undo to default! :)

Help me to help you! Helping each other makes us stronger, smarter!

and make sure that you have TFTP server set up on each subnet to cope with the 5410 firmware upgrade

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

Get a competent maintainer
on SCN you should be using a central VM not 2 seperate VM Servers.

Thank you folks for your input. IP Guru....I am aware of that you can use 1 VM PRO on an SCN. There are some particulars about this customer that I did not feel I needed to include in this post, but this application necessitated we use a seperate VM PRO at each site per Avaya Tier 3 engineers, have a nice day.

May need to beware of misplaced vm messages in the case of voice networking on but separate vm servers. Central vm is a feature of SCN. But if you have no issues then...

Make sure you square LCR vs ARS
