Any chance Avaya will release Support for the 4600/ 9600 SIP firmware?

Maybe in release 10 for the 9600s. Never for the 4600s.

The 9600 SIP firmware works as in basic dial tone, but not well or supported with feature keys or anything.

Perhaps if they have more and more SBCs in the field with IPO.

You would need a SIP enablement server to get any features out of them, doubt it'll happen :)

I'm familiar enough with the 9600SIP sets and to be perfectly honest, with everything else they tossed into Server Edition, I would think that a minor PPM service would be no big a deal.

It is a shame that it is still not implemented as SIP will be the protocol in the future.
SIP at it self is a job if you want to know all the options.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

SIP is actually a terrible protocol for telephony if you consider the way it works, there were better ways to go but as has been proven in the past the best way isn't always what catches on :)
