IPO R9.1 & Call Appearance 1

According to the docs it should be possible to transfer a call answered on the last free Appearance button but it fails for me.
Is there special programming needed? We always program one button as reserver for outgoing but for once I would like to use the second button for incoming also.

You can as long as the second one is free, but in that case you should have 3 CAs and still reserve the last.

Which is not the answer on my question but thanks for your answer anyway.
Avaya claims to be able to transfer calls if all CAs are occupied.
While it is not possible, a bit dissapointing but I expected something like that anyway so I worked my way around this new not working feature.
Thanks again Avaya for another promise not realised.

I'm pretty sure that Avaya doesn't promise that you will be able to transfer a call even if all CAs are busy. Avaya promises sometimes things that don't work (as expected). But CAs are well documented and the reserve last CA is exactly the option you need to be able to transfer a call even if you are a phones user who handles many calls.

In the past, on the 9x04's we have programmed a call appearance on the 12th button to make it usable but buried. (out of site, out of mind) But you didn't specify which set you were using. To the best of my knowledge you have always needed a free call appearance to transfer.

0 call appearances seem to work fine with current firmware (it did not when 1st introduced)
user can transfer calls without a problem + callers know when they are busy

In 9.1.9 zero call appearance transfer doesn't work. Just tested it in our lab.

great they have broken that now

even @ V3.0 transfer used to work it was last number redial that failed with 0 Appearances.


I HATE appearance keys they are a completely redundant waste of buttons introduced because Americans are too stupid to understand that a PBX can do the thinking or them.

It worked on 10 SP2, although my 1608 showed a message like "Buttonconfig: Invalid" on the default screen.

I used 9.1SP9 and 10SP2 and on both it doesn't work.
I agree on the appearance buttons, plain stupid technology.
Surprisingly enough the US techs forgot to implement them in iOS and Android....
