IPO R8 and external page 1

FYI- it appears that there is an issue with R8 and external page via analog station port configured as paging speaker. Essentially it doesn't work. Tech support at Jenne said that they've confirmed that it will not work when paging via shortcode aimed at a hunt group - but WILL work when the shortcode is aimed directly to the extension connected to paging amplifier. Our customer is a very busy site where I didn't have time to fool with it, so moved it back to R7 and paging began to function again.

Ran into this last night, and you saved us a few hours troubleshooting... But on 8.0(18) it doesn't work as a HG or User on a dial paging action.

We didn't downgrade, we ended up taking an off hook analog phone (with the handset removed) and bridging it to the port that runs to the paging equipment. Works like a charm every time.

nurban, there is an easier way than that, simply put a 600ohm resistor across the pair of wires from the analogue port (I use a cat5 module) and then connect it to the paging system, same result but less than £1 to make, it can even be used the other way to input to an analogue port set as music on hold source
