Good little box of tricks. We set ours up last week.
I looked at it dubiously when my storeman gave me a small box. When I opened it and see it I did have a little laugh and almost refused to install it.
However in this case size really does not matter, its a good box of tricks. Just wish I could install the client for sending at server level and not just at client level.
ACA - IP Office Implement
ACA - IP Telephony
CCENT - Cisco ICND1
CCNA - Working towards.
I have been installing them for years, with, and without the IPO. They are a great little unit especially for small business as the priceline is very low.
I just have a customer who wants to avoid having calls from hundreds of faxers who want to know their fax was recieved. If it had a mailbox option, that would reply with just the fax communication report showing that fax was recieved it would be a slam dunk for this, and many of my customers.
Their own fax machine should spit out the transmission report. I am not aware of a device that would call the sender back and issue a confirmation.
The one thing I wish the FaxFinder had was a store and forward feature so that faxes received while email is offline (e.g. Exchange server reboot) aren't lost.

Yessir. There are a few ways to do it (short codes or users) but end result is the FF routes based on DTMF sent by the PBX. I have done a 2 port that serviced 150 fax DID.

Yes - wonderful device. Put a 4-port version in early last year for an insurance agency with about 80 users and never a call-back. Saves lots of trees. Multi-tech has superior tech support as well.
Taker,
With DID integration on the IP, ICR to user, FWD to Group, with DTMFF set up to be passed by the EXT settings, it is recieved by the FF, and routed via the FF address book. Shortcodes work as well, but never tried it that way. It also allows File, Print, from the desktop using a printer driver to send outbound fax via the FF on the network.
tell the people that send the faxes to go into their menu and set it to print a receipt if the transmission fails is the only thing that comes to mind.
Sorry a hint of late hour sarcasm.
After using Google I just found one link to a database fax reply
I have a customer that uses faxes to register customers for seminars, conferences, etc., and would like auto fax reply receipts sent out so the fax sender does not call ten minutes later, as 80% do to make sure the fax was recieved. I would assume the finance infdustry might also like this feature.
Would you guys feel this feature would add value, or have an application for you, or your customers to avoid all these calls to your customer service queues for instance costing manhours, toll free charges, trunk congestion, and customer service delays in Queue.
Also, would it help sell more units, more ports on units, etc to have this feature to offer?
aarenot: I guess the fax is a dying breed of communication, have them register online and then send an e-mail as confirmation that they have been registered, this is the way most companies are going these days because then theyhave them nstantly in their database and don't have to employ someone to do the input.
For me that is a nice feature if it is available but also difficult to do if the people don't put the proper credentials into the fax header.
