Hello ..

I have IP Office Rls9.1SP10, is there a way to make changes to System configuration and take effect without reboot it ?

Most configuration changes don't require a reboot.

Mergable settings such as user, directory, groups, incoming call routes will merge without a reboot
When you save these it will prompt with Merge ,press ok

The only ones that require a reboot would be LAN,voip, smtp, lines
When you save these it will prompt with immediate reboot. Press ok and system reboots.

Hi ...

@snowman50: I know that, but I heared this form technical support working on IPO, tell me that its possible now to takke effect to voip with no need to reboot.. I test it found its wrong, but I know this site have an experts on IPO, just to be sure from my knowledge.

Thanks

You can add SIP trunks and change it to merge from immediate and that works fine, but you cannot edit the settings once it's created and merge as that doesn't work. So you need to delete it and then merge then add it back as a new trunk with the new settings and merge again, works just fine :)

The answer remains the same - if the changes can be made with a merge then they will but if any one of the changes requires a reboot it requires a reboot.

There have been a lot of improvements in the last few releases to reduce the need for reboots but its still not 100%. I believe that SIP trunks have recently come into a special state where some changes that previously needed a reboot can now be merged but with the proviso that current calls on the trunk may be dropped (effectively a trunk reboot rather than a whole system reboot).

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Hi ...

@amriddle01: @sizbut: is this can only on SIP Trunk???, or it can be also when work on LAN, VOIP, SMTP, C.O Trunk, PRI, of course we cant delete voip or LAN, but when clear changes, merge, and then configure again. its well work. because you may need some times to to changes on these settings on the working times, and you cant do this because of the system reboot, Sometimes you have to wait after the working hours for the change, I think this is a good addition if that is the caseز

Thanks

With R10 there are a few more trunks and system settings that can be merged.

h.323 trunks (SCN and non-SCN) to other systems can be merged too.
A colleague tried that on a R4.2 system and it worked then already but still requests a reboot :)

SCN lines on 9.1 are definitely mergable for new and changes.

Saw it in action today. Adding an IP500 V2 to SE as an expansion, Manager displayed a "Merge with service disruption" warning for the SCN trunk changes.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

If it requires a reboot you do have the option to set it to when free or a timed reboot

Hi ...

I try today in VoIP 》LAN1 . Remote H.323 Extension check box and merge saved. Takes effect without reboot.
