Will CDP work on a new IPO deployment using 9608g phones to put the phones in the proper VOICE VLAN? I told a customer's data vendor to use LLDP and he wants to use CDP instead. I've never used CDP for this before. I saw a few posts that said no, but talked to a couple techs that said it should and when I asked if they ever did, they said no. Thoughts?

Avaya phones do not support the proprietary Cisco Discovery Protocol.

Absolutely not, CDP is a Cisco propietry protocol as mentioned, vendors do not develop for, nor support a rivals own protocols as it costs money and only benefits their rivals :-)

Ok....thanks.

What default COS does the IPO use? I know DSCP is 46, but what about COS?

It just marks as DSCP 46 how that maps is well documented, clearly you are a Cisco guy :-)
