I have about 25 9608 IP Phones and am having trouble registering the phones on an IP Office 500 unit (not V2).

I have tried just about everything and at times seem close to imaging the phones and registering them, but I always get stuck on the Avaya One-X screen.

This is what I have done. I Have manuuly configured a phone with a static IP address and for the HTTP server I have used the IP Office Controller IP Address.

On Controller unit I Have set up the server type as Customer (have also tried Manager). I used configured the TFTP, HTTP and Manager PC IP Address with the server tha has the PHone Manger installed.

The phones show as if the firmware is loading, but then it stays stuck on the Avya One-x screen. On one setup it asked for the extension and password, howewever after I enter it, again I get the Avaya One-X screen.

I have search this konwledgebase and have not found the solution for configuring the 9608 phones with the 6.1.22 on an IP500 unit.

I think my next option will be to return these phones.

If anyone can give me some insite, I will be gratefull.

Thanks.

By the way, I already have a few 4621SW IP Phones that work perfectly.

stick them onto a new IP500V2 with the phone system as file server and see if it then uploads the firmware.
Sometimes they are moody and won't upload properly depending on the type of HTTP server you are using.
Also they have sometimes problems with the DHCP the first time I have noticed and want to get all statically assigned until they run the new firmware, after that they are usually OK.

Thank you Joe. I was actually pondering making that purchase. I could always use the older IP500 at another future small office with a few phones usng the older 56XX or 46XX phones which work fine with the IP500.

Do you know if I will have problems moving my licenses and SDcard Key from the IP500 to the IP500v2 unit? Is it just a hardware change or will I need to change my licensing?

Again thanks.

The IP500V1 has a smartcard and the IP500V2 has a SD card.

You need to replace the IP500V1 with an IP500V2 and do a license swap from the smartcard to the SD card.
You will need to return the smartcard to the business partner that did the swap for you or all licenses will be charged!!!
