Are there any IPO400 licenses that are not compatible with IPO 500 R5.0? Have a client that would like to migrate from a 406V2 to an IPO500. Can they bring all of their licenses with them (i.e. IMS, CBC, etc...)? I know they will need to add a few to function on the 500, but just not certain on the ones they already own. Also, is the process of migrating licenses off of USB Feature Key to a Smartcard a painful process?

IPO 500 R5.0 Licensing

I have moved licenses from one key to an other, I will say it is not bad once you get though your distrubuter to the right people, however getting to that point was very painfull, the USB key will endup sent to avaya so they can destroy/repurpose it, as you have the licenses that go with it you *could* reuse it...
I dont think any are not compatable, there are some you no longer need ( the upgrade to pro and the voicenetworking changed a little)
most incompatibilities are when you add new things, eg. add UMS to a system with IMS the IMS licenses wont work, add CCR to a system with CCC will invalidated the CCC license...
etc.
If I can ask what are they trying to gain by going 406 to 500?

CBC is not supported anymore in 5.0
IMS does but is not an install option anymore !!!
A license swap must be done before you add any new licenses to the smartcard !!!
Or else you loose your new licenses

Thanks for the information. CBC was the one I was mainly uncertain of, so thank you for verifying. Reason for the possibility of going from the 406 to the 500 is because the clients 406 lease expires in a few months. They are deciding wether to turn the system in and purchase a new IPO 500, or to buy out the existing lease and upgrade to get the system up to date. Thanks again.
You could ditch the CBC and go for CCR
