Hi Guys,
I have an odd one - customer on a 412 (3.1.65) with a couple DS30s and using a PRI for all calls. In most cases callers were using a system shortcode for dialing, and the default called from number would populate to called parties, some extensions had user SC's to send specific called from numbers - now, only a few extension's calls register a called from number, most outgoing calls show up to a called party as restricted. I experimented with an extension that would call out and have it's called from number received every time - if I added a user SC to it, it's calls would then become restricted as well. Does anyone have any direction for me?

cheers and TIA

On a PRI you have the s and the si for specifying the CallerID in the dial out short code, sometimes this matters. Try toggling it and see if it makes a difference.

Might be carrier related. Some carriers limit your outbound callerID to a list of numbers on your account. Sometimes even if the numbers are all with the same company (even on the same bill) they have them on different accounts per their own internal system and that will make them unavailable for you to outpulse as your CallerID. This would be easy to rule out. If the User Short Code fails with a number that otherwise is permitted to be sent as outbound CallerID on the System Short Code this is probably not carrier related.

In general more info would be helpful. What are the exact short codes, who is the carrier, etc.?

Hi Ragnorak,
Carrier is Century Link, the system and the account have been in place for a dozen years (or more), shortcode is typical:
[8]N;
Dial3K1
Linegroup 1
NS3605551212

Even omiting the "S" string results in a restricted number call on most occasions except for calls from a couple of extensions where it produces their default caller ID number. I configured an unused DID to forward to my cell, I get the default caller ID number coming through every time.

Try changing it to "Dial" instead of Dial3K. I think the "S" is supposed to be lowercase "s" and I have had that matter in the past. After the "Dial" try both "s" and "si" to set the callerID. I have had callerID working for years and then have the outbound callerID fail because the Carrier did an upgrade and I had to change it from s to si.

I left the dial3k1 in place but added an "i" after the "S" and it works correctly, I'll have to assume the carrier changed something. Thanks for your help Ragnorak!
