ipconfig doesn't work

We just bought a new windows xp sp2 dell, and while trying to set it up, i noticed the ipconfig doesn't work. It just sits there and I have to close out of the command prompt.

I can connect to our network and our internet. I am not able to do windows updates however, as it just goes to a blank page and I am forced to force quit.

It came with norton internet security installed.

Any ideas?

Well I disabled norton internet security and it looks like things started working as they should. I will just have to mess with the settings in order to make it work.

norton's stuff is just a mess. i've had to deal with it. get rid of norton's junk. you shouldn't have any problems. i would choose another virus program and firewall.
