IP500 Unit Hot Swap

Actually there is no hot swap to IP Office 500 system but what I want to do is reduce downtime as short as possible. So I prepare one more IP500 unit with very basic module (one vcm 32 and one ATM/digital port module) as a backup. our VM Pro server installed on our main location with one of IP500 unit. My question is if this IP500 unit failed caused by hardware issue and I'm going to replace it with backup unit, how could I swap those licenses which already installed on failed Unit to the new unit? I heard this thing can be done by Avaya or their Partner only. Thanks in advance.

It takes less than 2 mins to swap a chassis out for a new one if your cabinet isn't a disgrace so you're not going to save anything really as part of that swap is moving the SD card which holds the licences...

Just swap the SD card and modules into the new chassis, wait three minutes and you are finished. Best is to check if the PCS level of the spare chassis is high enough (PCS15?) and leave without having ever powering it.

That's what I heard before: someone tried to swap SD card and modules to the new unit but the VM Pro server can't talk to IPO unit, the VM Pro license is registered with the dongle # on the old unit.

Not true, that is also part of the swap

I don't even have chance to test it because both IP500 unit and VM Pro server are in production environment now.

It is registered with the dongle number. But the SD card is the dongle as well. So if you swap the SD card into a new chassis you will swap the dongle as well. Perhaps you have to check security settings after the swap.
