I have an ip403 that is working fine with a single pri.

My telco provider insists they can provide a secondary pri for redundancy... my question is does the ip403 support 2 pri's configured for redundancy, and how could i configure them?

I couldnt find anything in documentation.

Thanks,
Shane

What kind of redundancy are they going to provide??

If the 1st PRI goes down, will they switch everything over to the 2nd.

Wouldn't it be easier just to move the PRI patch lead from one NTE to the other. This would save any messy programming and paying for a second PRI card when onlyone is going to be used at any time.

Put the Channels in each PRI in different Outgoing line groups and then configure LCR to use the 2nd line group as an alternate route. If the First T1 is either Busy or unavailable it will move to the second T1.

For incomming, your provider must support T1 Trunk overflow, which sends the calls to another predefined phone #, in this case on the 2nd T1, if the primary is full or down.

this is in the US, i'll have to check on the T1 Trunk overflow

You could have both plugged in and both programmed for same incomming line group but different outgoing line groups.

Then either use LCR to drop onto the second route or dial in and change the routes manually when it goes down.
