On a IP412 with several other modules working fine got reports of analog phones not working. After checking the system the module isn't talking to the 412. After Power Cycle the LED goes from red (booting) to green flashing.

Restarted the whole system, retarted modules before powering on 412 all with same results.

Is the IP400 Phone 16 dead?

DTE it and reload the BIN file. it should do it once you plug the unit back into the IPO and you leave manager open

Being a total newbie to DTE on the IPOffice, all my admin experience has been thru the Manager app... any docs or white papers you could point me to to do the process of reloading the BIN?

It would be quite nice to save the $1k in replacing the module that the vendor quoted if all that is required is a little command line work :)

Sounds like the port on the back of the ipo is not working anymore more.
Put it on a free expansion module port.

HSM, when a module has a flashing green led it cannot talk to the ipo anymore.

You see this when you reboo the module but not the ipo.

Try to power up the expansion module, wait 20 sec. Then power up the IPO. Did you use the Blue 1m cable?

Did you use the 1m Blue cable (or another 1m Cat6 shielded) cable.

To upgrade the Module thru the DTE port have a look here;

Never ever DTE an expansion module is it still has it's software on it.
When the light is green or flashing green it is ok.
If it is red or flashing red then you have a problem with the module.

It is just not recognized by the ipo.

tlpeter: its not the port on the IPO, i have tried restarting the Phone 16 module in several diffrent ports, including ports that other working digital modules are currently working on.
I have also swapped cat5 cables from another module to this module so that rules out the cable.

Bas1234: i powered down everything, powered up all modules all green blinking light, then powered on IPO. All modules come up solid green when the IPO comes online... Except the Phone 16 module.

tlpeter: so you are saying i shouldn't DTE the module?

hairlessupportmonkey: In system Status the module doesn't appear at all. I only see the IPO and 5 modules. In Link Alarms i see Link/Resource Down Expansion 6
In Manager there is a archived notation of the 6 module.

What level is the IP Office on? I have had a stubborn Phone 16 expansion module just recently on 6.0.8, it took three reboots of it and the IP Office before it was recognised, all the DS30's were seen straight away, this was a 500v2 but it may be firmware related :)

From the Manager GUI>Control Unit
IPO 412 running 5.0
The Analog POTS16+ is/was running 7.0(15)

Probably not firmware then, people mistakingly plugging PC's into Dig/Phone ports has been known to damage the module but that usually red lights it :)

Did you power down the module and ipo, plugged in the cable from the module to the ipo, power up the module and then power up the ipo ???

I guess you did not power down the ipo!
When the ipo is running it will not recognize a module when it is plugged in.
It must be powered up after the module.

tlpeter: i powered down all module and the IPO. powered up all modules and got green flashing lights, moved the Phone16 to port 8 (Previously port 6) on the IPO412.

Then powered on the IPO412 same result flashing green light on module no Light on port 8 on the front of the IPO.

Then the port on the back of the module it broken.
Try to wiggle the cable a bit on the module side and reboot the ipo.
Maybe you can see something in monitor while you wiggle it.
