Has anyone set up an IP trunk between Avaya and Shoretel? I am inheriting an existing Shoretel installation, run an Avaya shop and link systems across MPLS. I can't find any technical notes on the integration of the two. Looks like Shoretel only does SIP trunking which means I need a SIP Enablement Server on the Avaya side. I am reluctant to spend the money for that if I can't find proof of concept for the connection. I'm also reluctant to spend the money since Aura is supposed to eliminate the need and we will eventually upgrade. I'm thinking about running Trixbox in between to do the conversion since I think I can go H.323 from the Avaya to Asterisk and then SIP from Asterisk to Shoretel. Any thoughts anybody has will be met with great appreciation.
