HI,
I have just installed the Avaya IP softphone software and i need to use a station to login, the problem is I dont know how to config the station to allow me to use it as a login for the softphone. Can anyone help.

Dave, enable the Softphone on your extension. Im using Definity SI v10:

STATION OPTIONS
Loss Group: 2
Personalized Ringing Pattern: 3
Data Option: none
Message Lamp Ext: 4977
Speakerphone: 2-way
Mute Button Enabled? y
Display Language: english
Expansion Module
Media Complex Ext:

IP SoftPhone? y

Also, I forgot to mention, setup a password on the security code line of your extension on the Definity.

thanks for that, one more question,
does the station have to be on a active port or can it be on a 'x' port?

I have not got the option to set IP Softphone to 'Y',
I have also noticed that under system-parameters customer-options the IP Station option is set to 'n', however if i try to 'change system-parameters customer-options' it does not work so, how do i change system-parameters customer-options?

Thanks for you help so far.

Dave, you may not have the RTU for the Softphone. Avaya needs to turn this up for you. Where did you get the software?

Also, I believe that your extension needs to have an active port.

I think i'll have to contact the company who provide support for this one (it's a bit over my head), the software came with the definity.
