When trying to set up a call through a VPN, the call setup works, but I can only get voice to work in one direction.
The person using the softphone can be heard on remote, but the softphone user does not hear anything.
(This works fine when only using the local lan)
The setup that is used:
Client PC with Avaya softphone 5.23.6
Access through Cisco VPN client, over a Cisco PIX firewall.
I've already tried hints on earlier postings like the H.323 fixup, but that does not seem to matter.
All Avaya documented UDP ports seem to be open.
The Avaya end runs Definity 9.5 with a CLAN ( TN799C 000001) and a Medpro(TN2302AP HW03 FW029).
Does anyone have a proper working config, or ideas ?

Thanks

Upgrade the FW on your Medpro. You are way behind the current. Will that solve your problem, don't know. But that is were I would start.

I would look at the softphone setup. In the advancdced tab. More than like you do not have the UDP ports forwarded. Does the remote user have a router? If so port forward the udp ports to the ip softphone's computer ip. If that does not work, try turning ip shuffling off on the ip softphone station page. Is the ip subnet of the remote softphone listed in the ip-network-map?

In the future everything will work...

use the telecommuter mode. ;-)

We recently upgraded to the cisco VPN client. Until then we had a few users using the RW mode, with little or no problems. Now something funky is going on with the Cisco VPN client, and I get the same symtoms you describe. Id look at the cisco client. We dont support RW mode here, so I haven't bothered with running it down. This could also be some NAT issue.
