I have about 100 IP phones running H.323. All get their IP addresses and CLAN registration info from the DHCP server. I have noticed when I do a list register that some IP phones are registered to Clans that are not in the DHCP scope.

DHCP settings
MCIPADD=172.20.62.137,172.20.62.136,172.20.9.11,MCPORT=1719,TFTPSRVR=172.20.3.9

For example I have a bunch of IP phones registered to 172.20.62.34 can .38 If it is not in the DCHP string, how does the phone know it can register to other Clans.

Your phones will load balance between all clans in the same network region.

Beginning in CM 3.1 you can block a C-LAN board from becoming part of the pool by changing the H.323 end-point field to 'n' on the IP Interface form.

If a phone register to one of the C-lan,s in you DHCP option. The phone,s get a gatekeeper list with all-clan,s of it,s region and directed connected region.

Then it will load balance with the clan-s in its own region...
