I cannot remember the name of the device I saw a while back that would allow a home user to have a avaya ip phone in their home, with a connection to our main pbx / campus. But their 911 calls would get routed out their home copper line and not our pbx. Or I had a dream wishing there was one of these and it does not exists? Any suggestions for such a method? Thank you in advance.

Note: This device was a small device that was inexpensive, something like a hruba box I think it was called. But I cannot find that name anywhere.

Perhaps it was a small Multitech H323 gateway, with an analog port you can interface with the users home phone?

It definitely wasn't something that attaches to the phone, or at least I haven't heard of anything official like that.

Most people I know using these VPN phones either sign up for a 3rd party E911 service or tell the employee "Don't use this phone for emergency" which doesn't fly in most places.

Yes, i think it was the multivoip device, something I can route 911 out the home users exsisting pots line. And yes you are correct, telling the users to not use 911 would not fly with us, as we are a hospital. :) I will check this device out thank you for information.
