Anyone know where the best place to study/practice for this test from Avaya U?
I took the test 2 weeks ago and failed miserably. Need help without paying Avaya booku bucks for training.

There is a forum on training around here, maybe they can help. I gathered all the info from the inet and got a 86% result.

My suggestions Get 2 IPO's and Play, Also get hold of a X.21 (Black Box)

and a couple of AVAYA IPO X.21 Cables then you can configure WAN services and see exactly how it works.
Most of the AVAYA exams are very ambiguous and expect you have a good sound understanding of exactly how the IPO works and also don’t expect the exam questions to be based around 3.0 as AVAYA can take a while to update the exams to refect the current build of software. When taking any AVAYA assessment, you should research back to 2.0 as there are minor changes between build of software and differences between specs of hardware and software.

Hope this helps

Umm anotherprivatebuild !!!

MrIPO, are you actually defending these tests? IMHO these tests are written to make you fail so you have to pay for the class.
Example:
On the LAN1 tab of the System Configuration form, what address acts as a primary address for LAN1?
A. IP Mask
B. Number of DHCP IP Addresses
X C. IP Address
D. Primary Trans. IP Address
Incorrect. Review AVA00138WEN - Module 2.

I didn't know the meaning of 'trick question' before I started taking these assesments.

If we have to take new courses they should write new assesments and not leave in questions that are 2.0 (or earlier) specific and aren't even a part of the current version. These questions have nothing to do with modern IPOffice implementation.

I swear some of these questions aren't right in any version. Some questions are a matter of opinion. Some have more than one correct answer and some dont even provide the correct answer as an option. It's like you need to figure out the correct answer and then you need to guess at what the hell the person who wrote the test was thinking.

PLEASE I am BEGGING you if you have any influence with Avaya U, get them to update or remove these tests. It's not fair to force all Avaya Buisness Partners to take these tests when they have NOTHING to do with modern IPOffice. It kinda feels like Avaya is trying to trick its buisness partners in order to bleed a little extra money out of them...I'm sorry to go off on a rant like this but these tests really piss me off. I don't like thinking that Avaya is just trying to get a little extra money here, but alternative reasons are limited.

if you think these tests are ambiguous trye the European ACA exam

Questins Start On a North Amrerican & T 1 Circuit......

Hello this is the EUROPEAN Exam, why do I need to know the US standards?

Still in reserching this exam I did learn a whole lot of usless (to me) information on how things are set up accros the pond

I'm sorry to make such a fuss like that. Those tests do get me worked up. I was in the middle of taking one when I wrote that.

Once again, sorry to go off like that and I hope that MrIPO didn't take anything personal. I did intend for that post to be a bit more constructive.

MrIPO you provide a lot of help to us here and I'm sorry if you took offence to anything.

The thing that amuses me is that this exam is prerequisite of the base IPO course!!!

Take Care

Matt
