Hello, I am looking into getting some sip trunks or Vonage service. I currently have 2 remote forward numbers going to my main tel #. Of course my service provider (AT&T) is making me pay dearly for the mileage.

I was looking into either SIP trunking or Vonage service. I don't know even if they are the same?

I have tried with a virtual # and this works great. However I need to keep the numbers that I already have.

Will Vonage work the same way? Do they require a stun server?

Will this conflict with my inbound sipphone #'s?

I know I have to make sure i have adequate licensing for the SIP trunk/channels.

Thanks

Ron K.

rmktech,

Vonage is a closed SIP system. In other words, you can only use Vonage service with Vonage's ATA (Analog Telephone Adapter). This means you will be feeding the IP Office an analog connection.

I heard (but cannot verify) that Broadvoice ( offers direct SIP trunking with packages similar to Vonage.

I also have experimented with Callcentric. They seem to have better packages, but I've had problems using IP phones with their service. No problems with Digital Phones.

DavidCT:

Thanks, do you have the config for callcentric? I can''t get it to work. I currently have have 1 demo/trial and i have sipphone up and working.

I would love to get callcentric to work along with sipphone.

thanks

rmktech,

What problem are you having with Call Centric?

DavidCT:

I have succesfully configured an inbound sip trunk with callcentric. How do i set up an outbound shortcode to allow me to dial any #.

*22N
dial
1N;"@callcentric.com"

I get call rejected.

rmktech:

Are you sure it's registering? Do you get the "Call Rejected" on the display or do you actually get the CallCentric man's voice saying that there was an error?

Aside from a few IP phone anomalies that DavidCT and I are experiencing. It works pretty well.

Drew2400 & Intrigant:
Thanks for your response.

My error "Call Rejected" is on / from the telephone (system).

I am registering with Callcentric, I do receive inbound calls.

Do I need Sip Url? I do have it checked and set for "Use Authentication Name" for all 3.

My Via is set to <none>

Registration is OK otherwise inbound would fail as well.
If our via is set to none then you need a IP route towards the default gateway:
IP Address = 0.0.0.0
IP Mask = 0.0.0.0
Gateway = ip address gateway
Destination = Lan 1 or LAN 2 depends on which line the network is.

I assume this is ok because you can receive calls.
Can you make a trace with monitor were you have the default filter but as extra enable the shortcode messages on the CALL tab and select all on the SIP tab.
Create a shortcode like this:
SC = *69N
Action = dial
TelephoneNumber = N"@callcentric.com"
LineID = the outgoing LineID of the SIP trunk
N = the telephonenumber you send to the sip provider

I have been using callcentric ( 866#s and local # ) with no problem. I had the same problem making outgiong calls at first.

I created the following SC:
SC = 9N
Action = dial
TelephoneNumber = N"@callcentric.com"
LineID = the outgoing LineID of the SIP trunk.

I just simply dial 9, then the phone number, It will then be recognized by callcentric.

I still can not dial outbound over sip trunk. I have tried all the s/c's listed above. My other question to all of you callcentric users is how do you configure more than one account? Under Lines/sip/itsp ip address it states that you can only have one entry and no duplicates. I have a 2 Callcentric accounts and 2 sipphone accounts. I can only get one sipphone account to work at a time.

Object is to have 3 different incoming #'s routed to ip ofice and o be able to dial out over any one.

Thanks

Do you have them configured as 3 separate accounts? Or do you have multiple numbers under one account?

If you have multiple numbers on 1 account, you configure the 777 number under your line itsp settings. In incoming call routes you define where they are to be sent. All numbers purchased will be sent to you via your logged in 777 number.

When you initiate an outgoing call, the number you have selected to appear in the CallerID option you the CallCentric MyAccount screen will be sent to the Called Party.

Also, I hate to ask the obvious and don't take this offensively, but...
Did you purchase an outgoing plan (per min, unlimited, etc.)?
For those who are unfamiliar, CallCentric has different plans for incoming and outgoing that are a la carte.

rmktech,

Try to Dial 17771234567 ( Directory Service, free on callcentric ) on your callcentric line, if it goes through, You are configured correctly for outgoing calls. To make outgoing calls, you must have a balance of $5.00 or more on Your callcentric account.

Also, login to you callcentric account, click Reports->call history->Today. If Your calling# appears OK, but called# is blank, and destination shows "invalid" for outgoing calls, check Your shortcodes!

Must be: TelephoneNumber = N"@callcentric.com"
