Hi All. We have a small P2P LAN w/ a DSL connection through a Cayman 3220H Router/Firewall. We have all WIN 98 SE PCs on the LAN. I am in the learning process, and have several basic questions on setting up a VPN, just for one remote PC to access one LAN PC.
1. We are about to purchase a new PC for the LAN. Can we get an OS that includes a VPN server function? WIN 2000 PRO, by chance?
2. The specs for the DSL router indicate IPsec client pass through. Is it a given that it will also allow PPTP? It doesn't say so in the specs.
3. The router also allows the opening of pinholes, but I am unclear on the concept. Is that an option that may help in setting up the VPN?
All input, suggestions, advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Bill
