I use it as a quick and dirty way to route between two subnets/vlans when I don't have a router that is capable of trunking.
Another application is to add a second subnet in an office where the first one is full.
A secondary address on your fastethernet interface will not affect traffic already going through it, and you will be able to telnet in through either address range.
yeah the routing should be in the routing table..
i meant that they wont form adjacenies on the secondary address.. i guess i hit submit before i finished my thought
