IP 4690 pwr supply question

Hi All, I wish u a Merry Christmas!!!

Any of u knows if an Avaya 4690 w/2mics conference phone can work fine only with the PoE supplied from an Avaya midspan or should I buy the external pwr supply also?

I tried to power with just PoE and it did not work. I believe the unit takes more juice than the midspan port will put out.

It seems the pwr sup will be is necessary altogether with the PoE.
