IOS vs CatOS, is there any benefit in using CatOS

Hi,

I believe the 5000 & 6000 series Catalyst Switches can use CatOS, as well as IOS, and they did solely in the past. What is the benefits of still using CatOS, are there any? i.e. Has IOS support for switching and MLS caught-up/surpaased with that of CatOS?

As an aside doeS anyone have a good link which explains the differences?
