I've been tasked with trying to find an inventory control system.
Currently we have 4500 to 5000 systems in service with a vast variance of technology (DEC Alpha Servers, DEC Vax 2000 Workstations, Compaq 486 DX 33's, Pentium Pro, PII, PIII, P4, Mac Performas, Mac G3s, G4s, G5s, Dot matrix, Inkjet and Laser printers) We have a network monitoring system from C.A. and it works wonderfully. My problem is I don't have any asset inventory control. We've warehoused a large number of spare parts for all of the systems. Basically what i am looking for is an inventory control system that similar to what would be used in a warehouse with the option to use barcode scanners for inputting data without having to go to the trouble of a sales system. I'm not selling any of the products, I just want to know what I have and where it is.
