I have definity/prologix v9 which is connected to an intuity for voicemail. They can't transfer direct voicemail. I'm believing it's because there is no dciu link card installed & the next problem is how do I get one to install.
There is the feature code #1 in the switch to directly transfer a caller to someones voicemail directly. It doesn't work. I was told about the dciu card providing this link. Is there another way? I'm certainly open to suggestions.
a quick easy way is to use an auto-attd. "please enter the mailbox number you wish to be transferred to". Just make sure you have "call-answer" or "guest greeting" for the treatment instead of "transfer".

I think your missing my point. i'm not using any kind of auto att. I simply just want anyone to be able to transfer a call to a persons voicemail directly. Just hitting 1 prog button & vm mlbx#.The feature is #1 in sys feat codes.
I do understand. A speedial of this auto-attd extension followed by the extension number will do exactly what you are asking. 1 button plus ext and you'll be in a mailbox leaving a message.
Transfer directly to voicemail is only available to be used by a station that is part of your coverage path. Say Bob has a secretary and Bob's coverage path goes to his secretary first, and then voicemail. When the secretary answers the coverage call coming from Bob's phone, she can then hit the direct to voicemail feature access code/button and the called will be in Bob's mailbox. This has nothing to do with a control link. Infact, CSI (prologix) systems do not support a processor interface card, so the only control link you could use would be C-LAN, and that would require changing of switch integration in the voicemail system which can be a real headache. Anyway, do what lopes said. We set it up this way for our customers all the time. Works great.
So I cannot connect the DCIU card to one of the connectors that hang off the back of the processor card?
The auto-att solution does work but will require that the person tranferring the call wait till the attentant answers and then input the extension followed by the pound sign.
DCIU integration requires a processor interface channel. Prologix bus architecture does not provide for a processor interface card to be installed. No processor interface card, no processor interface channels. No processor interface channels, no DCIU link.
